- ACCIONA organized the Round Table “Circularity as one of the pillars of regenerative infrastructures”
ACCIONA sponsored the CIRMAT 2024 Scientific and Technological Conference, which was held on 17 and 18 October at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Exhibition Centre in the Canary Islands.
The conference, organized by the Carlos III University of Madrid, the Institute of Natural Products and Agrobiology of the Spanish National Research Council, the University of La Laguna and the Canary Islands Special Zone, brought together young academics, researchers and professionals from some of the country’s most committed companies and public administrations to face the challenge of integrating circularity into all daily processes.
During the conference, participants enjoyed a wide variety of exhibitions, stands, conferences and activities related to the objectives of sustainable development by professionals from the public and private sectors.
ACCIONA organized the round table “Circularity as one of the pillars of regenerative infrastructures”, with the participation of Manuel García Alconchel, director of ACCIONA’s Construction business in the South Zone, together with Rosana Melián, general manager of Road Infrastructure, Department of Public Works, Housing and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands, and Alberto García Peñas, director of the Master’s Degree in Circular Engineering at the Carlos III University of Madrid.
The most relevant issues of this meeting focused on the development of infrastructures with a positive impact, the use of recycled technologies and materials, and the need to promote the implementation of sustainable solutions in the sector from the academic world.
